Everything we have answered, in one place.

1 Can I transport a two or three tier cake myself? You can, but it is worth knowing what you are taking on. A tiered cake travels assembled, with internal supports, and any sharp movement passes from one level to the next. It is the most delicate piece we make. 2 Can I order the same cake again? Yes, and we love it when that happens. If you kept your order number we can find the previous order with it and repeat the same design and the same flavour. 3 Can I send the cake by a delivery app or on a motorbike? A cake from the display case, yes, and that is why we are on UberEats and DiDi Food. A decorated or tiered cake, better not, and we would rather tell you beforehand. 4 Can I take the cake to another city, or on a plane? For event cakes we have delivered outside Mexico City, to Baja California, Sonora, Morelos and Querétaro, always quoted in advance, because it means planning the journey and the assembly. 5 Can I keep the top tier for our first anniversary? It is a lovely wedding tradition and it can be done, with clear expectations. Our cakes carry no preservatives, so a year in the freezer takes its toll: the flavour and the texture will not be those of the wedding day. 6 How long does the cake last out of the fridge? As little as possible. Our cakes carry no preservatives, and fruit, dairy and chocolate are sensitive to temperature: keep it constantly refrigerated and take it out shortly before cutting. 7 How long does the cake keep in the fridge? At its best, the first two days. Our cakes carry no preservatives or artificial additives, so their life is that of a fresh product. 8 How do I carry the cake in the car? Flat, on the floor of the car, on the passenger side. That is where it moves least. Never on the seat, which is sloped, and never in the boot, which gets hot and bounces. 9 How do I send you photos of how my cake turned out? On WhatsApp, and they genuinely make our day. Many of the photographs you see on our social media come from customers who sent us how the cake looked at their party. 10 What if the design I want can't be made? We tell you beforehand, not afterwards. Some ideas will not hold themselves up, others will not survive the journey, and others would lose their proportions at that size. 11 Do you get fully booked in high season? Yes, we fill up. For Mother's Day, Christmas, Rosca de Reyes and the graduation and wedding seasons, the diary closes weeks in advance. 12 What if the cake doesn't look like what I ordered? Look at it when you receive it, calmly and in good light. If something does not match what was agreed, tell us the same day, with photographs of the whole cake and of the detail, and your order number. 13 Do the catalogue cakes look like the photograph? Very close. The catalogue photographs are of our own cakes, real ones, made in this kitchen. They are not mock-ups or stock images. 14 What guarantee does the cake have? Our cakes carry a quality guarantee and you can make a claim within 24 hours of receiving one. When the order is placed you receive a contract by email with the clauses: read it, sign it and send it back to the same address. 15 Can I cancel or change my order? The conditions are in the contract that reaches you by email when the order is placed. Refunds follow our cancellation and refund policy, with its terms and conditions. The first thing, always, is to write to us as soon as you know. 16 Can I pay for my cake little by little? Yes. Your cake is held with a deposit of 30 to 50 per cent, and from there you can pay in whatever instalments suit you until it is settled. 17 Why does a designed cake cost more than an ordinary one? Because they are two different products that share a name. A cake from the display case is baked in batches with a standard finish. A designed cake is thought out for your event, modelled by hand, and occupies one person for hours, sometimes days. 18 Do you give discounts for volume or regular orders? Yes. We work with restaurants and with companies that order from us regularly, for instance to mark their team's birthdays of the month, and in those cases we work with discounts of 5 to 10 per cent. 19 How can I pay? Cash, credit or debit card, bank transfer or deposit, payment at OXXO, and a Mercado Pago link. The only thing we do not take is cheques. Whichever you use, put your order number as the payment reference. 20 How do I get an invoice? Ask for it on the same day as your purchase, with your order number, your tax details and the payment information. If the day has passed, contact the shop where you bought it, with your order number to hand, and they will help you. 21 Are Coapa and Lomas L'Autrichienne shops? No. Coapa and Lomas stopped being part of L'Autrichienne by Sacher on 31 December 2025. Today the only shops are Extremadura, Portales and Tepeyac. Whatever is sold at those other addresses does not come from our kitchen and is not covered by our guarantee. 22 Can I collect from the shop and skip the delivery charge? Yes. It is our click and collect: you buy online, choose the shop and pick it up with no delivery to pay. All three shops open Monday to Saturday from 10:30 to 20:00, and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00. 23 Is there parking at the shops? At Extremadura you can use the car park of the Toks next door, charged by the hour. At Tepeyac there is a public car park about 100 metres away, also paid. Portales has no car park of its own, but you can park on the street. 24 What happens if I'm not there when the cake arrives? This is the situation that causes the most trouble, so it is worth planning for. The driver rings the number you left on the order. If nobody answers and there is no one to receive it, the cake is not left with a neighbour or at the door. 25 Can I collect my cake later than I booked? Yes, within shop hours. Your cake is kept refrigerated until you collect it, so arriving later does it no harm. Quite the opposite: the longer it spends cold, the better. 26 Can I change the address or the delivery time after ordering? Yes, as long as you tell us in good time. The day's route is put together the evening before with every order in that area, so a change made a day ahead can almost always be accommodated. 27 What time will my order arrive? For home delivery inside Mexico City, within a two-hour window that you choose when you buy. Outside the city, in the bordering area, deliveries run from 7:00 to 11:00. At the shops, collections start at 11:30 and finish fifteen minutes before closing. 28 Why can't I choose a particular date? Either that day falls inside the time we need to make what is in your basket, or it is a date blocked for a rest day or a holiday. When you tap a greyed-out day the calendar tells you why, and suggests a day earlier, never a day later. 29 Do you deliver on Sundays and public holidays? On Sundays all three shops open from 11:00 to 16:00, so you can come and collect without any trouble. For home delivery, on Sundays we only deliver wedding cakes. 30 Do you deliver to venues, gardens or hotels? Yes, and for events it is the most common arrangement. What we need from you is concrete information about the place: the name of the venue, the exact address, who to hand it to, and the hours the venue allows suppliers in. 31 How far do you deliver? Our regular delivery covers Mexico City and the surrounding metropolitan area. Beyond that the door is not closed: for wedding, quinceañera and special-occasion cakes we have delivered to Baja California, Sonora, Morelos and Querétaro, always quoted in advance. 32 Are you on UberEats or DiDi Food? Yes, all three shops are on UberEats and DiDi Food. Through the apps you order whatever is in the display case at that moment, delivered straight away. Custom cakes and anything for a future date go through the online shop or the counter. 33 Do you have any offers or discounts? Yes. Right now there is free delivery in Mexico City on orders from 1,500 pesos, using the code NEW2026 at checkout, covering up to 390 pesos of delivery, which leaves fifteen of the sixteen boroughs entirely free. We also give 5 to 10 per cent for volume. One thing to watch: the code does not apply itself. 34 Can you send me a quote? Yes, usually the same day. To give you a figure rather than a range we need three things: how many people, what date, and what you have in mind. If the cake is already in the catalogue you do not need to wait for us at all: choose the servings and the price is there. 35 What size do I need, and how many people does it serve? Choose by number of guests, not by kilos. For small cakes, a two-kilo cake serves 10 to 15 people. Above two kilos we count 100 grams per person, so a five-kilo cake serves about 50 and a ten-kilo cake about 100. In the online shop you pick the number of servings and the size sorts itself out. 36 How much does a custom cake cost? It depends far more on how many people it has to feed than on how elaborate the design is. As a guide, a decorated cake for 20 people runs between 1,000 and 1,500 pesos, and a wedding cake for 100 starts at around 6,000 and can reach 12,000 if it is very elaborate. Every cake in the online catalogue shows its own price as you choose the number of servings. 37 Do you deliver, and how much does it cost? The cost depends on the borough: from 190 pesos in Benito Juárez to 650 in Milpa Alta, worked out at checkout once you type your address. The full table for all sixteen is below. There is currently free delivery in Mexico City on orders from 1,500 pesos with the code NEW2026, covering up to 390 pesos of delivery. 38 How far in advance should I order? Cakes from our online catalogue need two days' notice. Decorated birthday cakes take three to six days, sculpted or 3D designs about a week, and elaborate floral wedding cakes are usually booked two to three months ahead. If there is room in the ovens we will almost never say no, but the shop has to confirm it.
