That opens the case, and it is reviewed against what was set down in your contract, the document emailed to you when the order was placed. Depending on what happened, it is resolved with a correction, a replacement or a refund.
What the guarantee does not cover is damage that happened after delivery: transport you arranged yourself, heat, a fall, or the assembly at the venue. That is why we are so insistent about how a cake travels.
