Can you make a large catalogue cake smaller?
It rarely works well, and we will say so plainly. A tiered cake was conceived with a balance and a movement of its own; cutting it down to one tier takes away exactly what you liked. What we do instead is propose options for fewer people with the same impact.
Why we do not recommend it
Our designer conceives each cake at a particular size. The balance, the height and the movement of the piece are worked out there. Cutting it down to one tier is like taking a panel out of a garment: it is still the same cloth, but it no longer hangs the same.
What we do instead
Come to us with the real number of people at your celebration. There are always designs made for smaller groups that carry the same impact.
