How is a wedding or quinceañera cake quoted?
Bespoke, because the price depends on the servings, the complexity of the design and the set-up. For cakes for more than 100 people a tasting appointment is booked at one of the shops, the cake is settled with you, and the quote comes out of that with several proposals.
Why there is no list price
A cake for more than a hundred people brings in too many variables: the servings to be cut, the complexity and variety of the design elements, and the details that matter to the people being celebrated.
Sometimes a smaller cake takes more time and more craft than a large one, and its cost per slice works out higher. A list price would be dishonest in both directions.
How it works
For cakes for more than 100 people, you book a tasting at one of the shops. You try the flavours, we look at references, and we work out the tiers, the assembly and how the cake reaches the venue. What comes out of that session is a closed quote with several proposals.
The date is held with a deposit of 30 to 50 per cent.
