What allergens are in the cakes? Can there be traces of nuts?

Updated on September 8, 2026 Answered by the kitchen
In short

Yes, there can be traces of nuts in any of our cakes even when the recipe does not name them: walnuts and almonds are worked with every day in the same kitchen. Below is what each flavour's recipe names. If there is a diagnosed allergy, write to us before ordering.

First, because it matters most: our bakery works with walnuts and almonds every single day, alongside wheat flour, dairy and egg. The same benches, the same tools and the same ovens. That means there can be traces of nuts in any cake, even when its recipe does not name them. We cannot guarantee any cake is free of them.

If there is a diagnosed allergy involved, especially a severe one, write to us before ordering and we will go through it with you. We would rather tell you no than promise something we cannot stand behind.

What each flavour's recipe names

This table lists what each recipe contains on purpose. It is not a complete allergen declaration: the warning above still applies to all of them.

We can make one free of an allergen, but as a special order

If you need a cake free of nuts or of another allergen, we do make them, but it has to be requested expressly as a special order. It is not a matter of crossing an ingredient off the recipe: it means a thorough clean of tools and equipment before we start and handling that production separately, and that has to be scheduled.

So it cannot be solved by picking an option in the cart. Write to us on WhatsApp before ordering, tell us which allergen it is and when you need it, and we will tell you whether it can be done and how much notice it needs.

Vegan fondant

We have it too, as a special order. It is not the one we use by default, so it has to be flagged when you place the order.

Gluten and egg

The sponges and biscuit bases are made with wheat flour, so do not treat any of them as gluten free unless we say so in writing. The same goes for egg. The one option that genuinely is gluten free today is the Keto Cheesecake, and even that is made in the same kitchen.

Alcohol

Nine of the twelve flavours are laced with spirits. If the cake is for children or for someone who does not drink, here is which ones.
